Fair Trade Week - Nov 20 to Nov 24 in Convocation Mall (main throughfare).
We'll be selling canisters of nothing, sending students out to high schools to give workshops on fair trade.
We'll have fair trade items for sale on campus (we'll have a Christmas theme and so we'll be encouraging students to buy fair trade items for their friends and family as christmas gifts
We'll be going to the community to find out which stores do sell fair trade items so that we can compile a pamphlet to distribute to students. We'll also challenge stores that don't sell fair trade items to do so by next year whereupon we'll do another fair trade week and hence we'll be able to advertise them then.

The main goal of the Oxfam club at Simon Fraser University is to increase awareness of global issues for students and people in the local community. Oxfam SFU started a couple years ago under the leadership of Alex Nataros. During that time, there were Fair Trade weeks, high school workshops, and other campaigns. Recently, Alex passed the torch to Ronita Nath. She's been working on carrying on traditions like Fair Trade week and high school workshops, as well as bringing in some new ideas.
